History -
Eye in the Sky was created to serve players that
enjoy working together to solve the challenges that
WOW has to offer. The name was inspired by two
amazing creations:
- The first being the E-8C Joint STARS
aircraft... this
aircraft looks down from high above and
views the ground with an omniscient eye.
The capability seems somewhat magical, much like
the rush of an AOE blizzard from a mage or a
hunter's ability to track targets that others
cannot see.
Goals
-
The Number One goal of the Eye in the Sky
Guild is to HAVE FUN.
In the pursuit of fun, we run instances together,
help one another achieve quest objectives and
generally provide helpful information when someone
asks a question. Sometimes we even provide
each other with items that help us in our
adventures. And yes, we sometimes give each
other a good natured hard time so don't be surprised
if you see two guildies ripping into each other on
guild chat one minute and then running an instance
as Tank and DPS the next.
Sure, one day we may change our goals to include
buying Dalaran from Tiny Baby, but at this point,
many of our members have not even been to Dalaran!!!
So until then, let's have some fun!
Rules -
The only rule we have is the Golden Rule: do unto
others...
Think about it. If you needed to loot the
last boss in an instance and your tank said "g2g"
right before the last room, would you be a happy
camper? If you put something into the bank
with the expectation that another guildie would use
it to their advantage only to find out that they
took it and sold it on the AH so they could add to
their personal bank... would you be happy? (Oh
yeah... no pirate talk, at least till after 10pm.
My kids play this game too)

One more thing... DON'T LET THE DRUID DIE!!!
Who else is going to rez you :)
Expectations -
Guild Bank - We have a lot of stuff in the
guild bank. If you need it, take it.
But, at some point down the road please put
something back! (That includes Repair Gold... that
stuff doesn't just magically appear.)
Instances - It's all about managing
expectations...
- If you know you can't stay on for the entire
length of the instance, let the group know AHEAD
OF TIME. This will give them an
opportunity to decide if they want to chance it
or if they want to let someone else run that can
stay the whole time.
- Need vs. Greed... If you play with me
specifically (Magesage), everyone Greed
rolls. This makes it totally fair since it
is a random number generator (except for the
fact that I rarely win a greed roll for some odd
reason). There is ONE EXCEPTION... if you
say ahead of time that the whole reason you are
going is in case something specific drops then
you can roll Need. Actually, if you
let everyone know ahead of time they will most
likely select Pass and then you are
guaranteed to get your item. In the heat
of battle it is too easy to read something wrong
and select Need (I did it for a blue ring
drop that I thought had spell power.
Turned out it was a tank ring with attack power
and even though I asked, the tank was still
really annoyed. I was so focused on
targeting the next boss I just totally misread
the pop-up). Keep in mind, you are free to
set your own rules when you lead the group, but
remember that people make mistakes and some hurt
feelings and annoyed toons could be the result!

How do you get promoted? Well, it is
all based on your reputation within the Guild.
You should be immediately promoted to "In Training"
so you will have access to the Bank. Beyond
that, the Officers have to agree that your
contribution and reputation warrant a promotion to
First Flight. We will talk about it and give
promotions once per week. Running Instances,
helping others quest, providing answers to questions
and not acting like an idiot are the basic
requirements. Oh yeah, depositing useful items
(including gold) into the Guild Bank helps too!!!
